Hello there! As many of you are, we’re in full Christmas season swing. The Thanksgiving leftovers are gone and the Christmas tree is up. There are lots of presents under the tree already! One of the presents we’ve given to our future selves is to up our investments in our Realty Income Direct Purchase Plan, managed by Wells Fargo. Because of our pay raise and commitment to steadily building a snowball over time, we’ve raised our monthly contribution amount by 50%. Each month the amount of dividends we receive from that company will increase, and they’ll be reinvested directly into buying more shares of the Monthly Dividend Company®.
Increasing our Giving
At the same time, because of our increase in pay we’ve increased our giving. This month we started donating to an organization that we are very familiar with. Not Forgotten is a non-profit charitable organization that operates a boy’s home in Iquitos, Peru for abandoned street children. We at FD have personally visited Not Forgotten’s mission three times in the past years. We’ve decided to take the extra step and support them financially. Do you give to any organizations in your community? Drop us a note below and share.
From their website:
“Not Forgotten is on a mission to help abandoned, abused, and neglected children understand and believe that they are not forgotten – not by us and not by God. Not Forgotten seeks to advocate for and rehabilitate children from Iquitos, Peru who are affected by the helplessness and hopelessness of their condition. Not Forgotten invites you to join us in spreading the hope of Jesus Christ to these children, that they might find true life in Him and grow up to become agents of change in their communities.”
November 2015 income was:
Apple (APPL) – 46.96
Main Street Capital (MAIN) – $30.70
Realty Income Corp (O) – $11.84
Wayside Technology Group (WSTG) – $8.50
AT&T (T) – $11.75
Pimco Income Fund Class D (PONDX) – $1.28
So far we are 78% higher in total dividends collected this year as compared to November of 2014. This month’s income is 129% higher than last year’s, and we should receive some end of year distributions to bump the total percentage increase even higher.
Have a great holiday season.
And Roll Tide.
